A week of free seminars for all sailors in the Canary Islands sponsored by the Canary Islands Tourism Promotion Board, the Lanzarote Tourist Board, the European Sports Destination, and Calero Marinas.
You do not have to be part of the Barbados 50 Rally to join these seminars – all sailors are welcome.

All seminars are to be held at the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife (Arrecife Yacht Club).

Monday 12 September | 1400 – 1500 | World Cruising Today – Jimmy Cornell Best-selling author of cruising books and pioneer of the cruising rally concept, Jimmy Cornell has sailed over 200,000 miles in all oceans of the world and completed three circumnavigations. Here he gives an overview of the current global cruising scene. |
1500 – 1545 | How to support yourself financially while cruising – Luc Callebaut Luc shares a wealth of experience having worked as a diver, tour guide, film maker, to name but a few of the inventive ways he and partner Jackie have supported themselves for the past twenty years while sailing some of the most desirable cruising grounds of the world. |

1545 – 1630 | Climate change and the oceans – Doina Cornell Based on her experiences sailing to Antarctica, the Arctic and Tuvalu, places most threatened by climate change, Doina gives a brief overview of some of the challenges the ocean faces and an introduction to some citizen science projects sailors can get involved with while sailing across the Atlantic. |

Tuesday 13 September | 1400 – 1500 | Medical emergencies at sea and preparation – Dr Paolo Casoni In 2014 Paolo sailed in the Atlantic Odyssey onboard his boat Mistero Blu and is back by popular demand following his successful medical seminar last year. He will be running an open session for medical advice on the morning of this seminar. |

1545 – 1630 | Sailing as a family – Doina Cornell Doina reflects on her experiences of spending seven years with her family from the age of seven while on a world voyage, and comparing it to what sailing family life is like today.
