Busy days at Boot Düsseldorf

The largest boat show in the world has once again lived up to its reputation by bringing visitors from all corners of the planet to admire a virtual fashion parade of the latest and most advanced yachts.

The Cornell Sailing Events stand, sponsored by the Tenerife Port Authority and Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc., was visited by many sailors planning to cross the Atlantic in one of our events.

Garcia Exploration 52

The Garcia boatyard, who built my own Exploration 45, that took me through the Northwest Passage, exhibited here her largest sister, the Exploration 52.

This stunning yacht can only be described as a state-of-the-art vessel, and was nominated for this year’s European Yacht of the Year award.

It was amazing to see what a difference of 7 feet in length can make, resulting in a much more spacious yacht than the 45.

I must admit that my visit was marred by a slight tinge of envy… and I am sure that I was not the only sailors with this feeling when stepping off this marvelous machine ready to take you anywhere on this planet.
