Steve, Casey and Justin, not forgetting Windy the dog, on the American boat Jacquelyn were the first to arrive in Martinique this morning at 0945 local time.

They berthed in Le Marin marina, with a welcoming committee waiting on the pontoon consisting of various crews from boats which had taken part in previous Odyssey rallies, and the voyage to Le Marin: Doudou (Atlantic Odyssey II de 2015), Velvet (Islands Odyssey 2015) and QP (Atlantic Odyssey 2015), who all came spontaneously to welcome the new arrival and share the happiness of making landfall after an Atlantic crossing.
Staff from the Marin Tourism Office were also there as usual to welcome the crew on behalf of Martinique, with a traditional rum punch.
The crossing took 17 days, with the weather complicated at the start due to the unexpected development of tropical depression Alex which blocked the route west, obliging participants to sail south towards the Cape Verdes so as to make a course for Martinique.
