Baltic Sea Seminar A Success With Jimmy Cornell

A seminar on long-distance cruising was held at Warnemünde on the Baltic Sea over the weekend.

Organised by the German magazine Die Yacht, the largest circulation sailing magazine in Europe, the seminar was attended by sailors planning to set off on a voyage in the near future.

Cornell Sailing Events was represented by Sönke Roever who gave a talk on onboard communications while Jimmy Cornell’s talk focused on the major factors that may influence the successful outcome of a long voyage.

A highly appreciated presentation was made by the crew of the yacht Anne, who recently completed a 13,000-miles circumnavigation of the North Atlantic having crossed the Atlantic in 2014 with the European Odyssey. On their voyage Nette and Stefan Wendl were accompanied by Lasse 10, Neele 8 and Torge 6.

All subjects of interest to anyone preparing for the long voyage were well covered by an comprehensive program that stretched over two days and included both lectures and practical demonstration on board some boats that had been sailed to this attractive seaside resort by members of the German TransOcean Club.
