Sailors Gather In Lanzarote For Third Atlantic Odyssey

The Atlantic Odyssey has officially begun, as sailors gather in Marina Lanzarote before the departure across the Atlantic on Wednesday 18th November. Now in its third year, the Atlantic Odyssey has over forty boats taking part, many of them with young families onboard.

As well as the necessary preparations to be made for a long ocean passage such as last minute repairs and provisioning, rally regulations require each boat to have a safety inspection to ensure the vessel and the crew are prepared for all eventualities. This is not to forget the other important part of the Odyssey, making new friends. Young and old gathered in the new Odyssey Lounge in the marina for an informal party, and no doubt some of the friendships begun here will be lasting ones.
