Sailors from all over the world flock to the largest boat show in the world

The Jubilee edition of this most popular boat show in the world has been attracting record numbers of visitors this is opening on 19 January.

As in previous years, Cornell Sailing have a presence on the Garcia Yachts stand D42 in hall 16, who are exhibiting their flagship, the Exploration 52, the larger version of Jimmy Cornell’s Aventura IV.

Also on show are Jimmy‘s latest books, his memoir “200,000 Miles” and the best-selling “Cornells’ Ocean Atlas”.

As on previous occasions, our stand has been visited by several participants in one of our rallies, such as the family crew of the yacht Deiopea.

Children are well looked after at this show, with playgrounds, sailing pools and open classrooms, which are visited by many local schools.

On our stand, the youngest visitor was three-week old Amelia, whose parents are planning a future voyage. In spite of being asleep, Amelia was presented by Jimmy with a personally dedicated copy of his book.

In spite of an overnight blizzard, visitors continue pouring into the vast exhibitions 17 halls with the record expected to be beaten by the time the show closes on Sunday.
