This comprehensive one-day seminar is based both on Jimmy Cornell’s considerable personal experience and the practical information gathered as the organiser of 30 transatlantic and six round the world rallies.
In the last 40 years Jimmy has sailed over 200,000 miles, including three circumnavigations as well as voyages to Antarctica and the Northwest Passage.

JIMMY CORNELL
An accomplished sailor and successful author, Jimmy Cornell has sailed over 200,000 miles in all oceans of the world including three circumnavigations as well as voyages to Antarctica and the Northwest Passage.
In the last three decades he has organised 30 transatlantic rallies, five round the world rallies and one round the world race.
Thousands of sailors have fulfilled their dream of blue water cruising with the help of Jimmy Cornell’s books, among them the bestseller World Cruising Routes, now in its seventh edition. Doina Cornell is Event Coordinator for the Odyssey Rallies.

Ed Wildgoose established MailASail in 2001, when his parents set off on their circumnavigation & found satellite communications expensive to use. MailASail now have a global customer base and supply & support satellite phones from all of the main satcom manufacturers (Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya & Globalstar).
PETER ANDERSON
Peter Anderson B.A. is the Managing Director of Eclectic Energy Limited.
A keen sailor and yachtsman, Peter spent 5 years on the development of the DuoGen before the product’s launch in 2002. Eclectic Energy is a leader in the field of micro wind and water generators, and supplies products for marine leisure, onshore off-grid, and micro generation.
ROBERT STEVENS
Robert Stevens is the Managing Director of Topsail Insurance Ltd.
Rob started in marine insurance 32 years ago and in that time has built up a wealth of experience. He established Topsail and from small beginnings of insuring the Blue Water Rally fleet, has built up the company to be recognised as the specialist insurer for long distance blue water cruising. He opened Topsail’s Australian office in 2015 which caters for Australasian clients and this office continues to grow from strength to strength.
