In light SE winds, the Atlantic Odyssey II fleet took the start from Santa Cruz de Tenerife at 1200 local time. The Belgian yacht Serendip just managed to edge across the start line ahead US yacht Persevere.
The yachts are now heading SSW in light winds that are predicted to continue for the next few days.
