As preparations for Barbados 50 sailing rally get underway, the latest news from the Caribbean island is that 600 ft of new dock space is completed, with services including offices for Customs, Immigration and Port Health along with Washrooms and Showers as well as Laundry Facilities, Shore Power and Water Supply.
It is thanks to the work of the Minister of Tourism and International Transport Minister Richard Sealy and the Barbados Port Inc led by Chairman Mr David Harding and his board, especially Captain Billy Fergusson and Calvin Alkins and Acting CEO Mr David Jean-Marie, all of whom have gone out of their way to make this a reality.
The improvements which have taken place in the Shallow Draft facility of Bridgetown Harbour will greatly enhance the yachting facilities on the island, and will help contribute to the success of the Barbados 50 and Atlantic Odyssey sailing rallies due to arrive later this year.
