Thousands of people lined the streets of Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife, on Friday evening to watch the Three Kings procession windings its way along a 3-kilometre route. This annual event takes place on the eve of Epiphany and is the highlight of the winter season festivities for children and adults alike.
The Magi bearing gifts signal the arrival of the Kings.
The procession having arrived in the main square, the Three Kings are seated in front of a scene of the Nativity ready to welcome the children who had been eagerly waiting with their parents in a long line.
Worth waiting for this photo opportunity.

Midnight…. the excitement is over, the teams are out sweeping the streets clean with their palm fronds… and by morning the city has returned to normal.
