Cornells’ Ocean Atlas<\/em> is another must-have for the circumnavigator’s bookshelf. This compendium of pilot-charts-on-steroids is quick, easy, and intuitive to use\u2014perfect for offshore voyage planning.<\/p>\n

Ever since I was a child growing up on the schooner Elizabeth, I have been enthralled with pilot charts, as limited as they were. Now Jimmy and Ivan Cornell have taken an entirely new look at the concept, and come up with an updated edition of their Ocean Atlas\u2014month by month worldwide wind and current charts.<\/p>\n

There is nothing like this on the market, and already mine are dog-eared. Of special interest are the quick and easy to use \u2019windgrams\u2019 for popular passage conditions. Jimmy and Ivan have taken all the work out of voyage planning. Excellent!<\/p>\n
