L\u2019\u00eele la plus \u00e0 l\u2019ouest de l\u2019archipel des Canaries, repr\u00e9sentant la fin du monde connu jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que le voyage de Christophe Colomb prouve le contraire, est en passe de devenir la premi\u00e8re \u00eele du monde \u00e0 couvrir tous ses besoins en \u00e9nergie par des sources renouvelables. <\/p>\n<p>La Gorona del Viento (que l\u2019on pourrait traduire litt\u00e9ralement comme l\u2019\u00e9table \u00e0 vent) est un projet ing\u00e9nieux d\u2019exploitation du vent r\u00e9gulier local pour faire fonctionner une station hydro-\u00e9lectrique qui fournira \u00e0 terme l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire aux 7000 habitants de l\u2019\u00eele.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_43216\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img d\u2019utiliser les vents dominants de nord-est pour produire de l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cinq \u00e9oliennes (capacit\u00e9 maximum de 11.1 MW), cette \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 \u00e9tant soit d\u00e9livr\u00e9e aux habitants pour leur usage domestique (estim\u00e9 \u00e0 7.4 MW par jour), soit utilis\u00e9e pour alimenter une s\u00e9rie de pompes hydrauliques qui remontent l\u2019eau situ\u00e9e dans un r\u00e9servoir inf\u00e9rieur jusqu\u2019\u00e0 un r\u00e9servoir principal situ\u00e9 700 m\u00e8tres plus haut.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_43220\" d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, ou que la consommation est trop \u00e9lev\u00e9e, l\u2019eau du r\u00e9servoir principal vient faire tourner des turbines hydro-\u00e9lectriques qui fournissent la diff\u00e9rence. Pour sa premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e de fonctionnement, ce projet a d\u00e9j\u00e0 r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 trois occasions \u00e0 couvrir 100% des besoins de l\u2019\u00eele, dont une fois pendant 72
