Barbados 50 boats in Marina Santa Cruz, at the centre of the Tenerife capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife<\/p><\/div>\n

The short 55 miles leg between Gran Canaria and Tenerife<\/a> posed no problems to the 30 boats in the Barbados fleet, with Jiyu<\/em>, an Outremer 51 catamaran, the first to take only 5 hours to arrive in Santa Cruz with a top speed of 13.5 knots.<\/p>\n

The last to arrive, the 36 foot Witte Kreeft<\/em>, took twice as long, but still in a remarkable time for the smallest boat in the fleet.<\/p>\n

Centre stage – Barbados 50 boats docked in the heart of capital Santa Cruz<\/p><\/div>\n

An equally remarkable passage time was that of Sir Henri 4<\/em>, an Outremer 4X, who took only 9 days to sail nonstop from La Grande Motte, in the south of France, to Tenerife, a distance of just over 1600 miles.<\/p>\n

A long stopover has been planned in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is now our base of operations in the Canary Islands after the conclusion of a sponsorship agreement with the Port Authority of Tenerife<\/em>.<\/p>\n
