I want to thank all of you who have written, as well as those who have accompanied me on this exciting adventure.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cornellsailing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/aventura-thankyou-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dawn 17 August<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As the sun set last night at 2143 local time we still had some scattered ice about. But it was all gone by the time it rose again at 0145 this morning. The nights are still short here at 74 degrees north but they start getting longer and darker as we make our way south.<\/p>\n<p>Just now we are proceeding east in Lancaster Sound in a complete and flat calm.
