{"id":18655,"date":"2015-01-06T15:39:07","date_gmt":"2015-01-06T15:39:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cornellsailing.com\/2015\/01\/preparations-make-good-progress-two-days-before-the-start-2\/"},"modified":"2015-01-17T15:59:39","modified_gmt":"2015-01-17T15:59:39","slug":"preparations-make-good-progress-two-days-before-the-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cornellsailing.com\/de\/2015\/01\/preparations-make-good-progress-two-days-before-the-start\/","title":{"rendered":"La Palma: preparations make good progress 2 days before the start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The days pass by at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.caleromarinas.com\/marinas\/la-palma\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Marina La Palma<\/a>, between preparations for departure and the events organized for the <em>Atlantic Odyssey<\/em> and the traditional Twelfth Night celebrations..<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 690px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/AO2-Palma-forum.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Q&amp;A forum<\/p><\/div>\n<p>A seminar took place in the <em>La Palma Yacht Club<\/em>, located in the center of Santa Cruz in an old typical Canary Islands building, with its doors and balconies of sculptured wood and its internal courtyard.<\/p>\n<p>A questions and answer session allowed the sailors and the <em>Cornell Sailing<\/em> team to discuss subjects relative to the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean: weather reports, squalls, watches, safety and medical emergencies, communication at sea, waste management&#8230;\u00a0 Klaus Hympendahl also gave a lecture on piracy at sea.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 690px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/AO2-Palma-Gilberto-Duque.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Klaus Hympendhal with Gilberto Duque of La Palma tourist board, one of our most faithful supporters over the years of organising events<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"width: 690px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/AO2-Palma-provisioning.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Provisioning at the market<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Several participants visited the market together with their provisioning list, translated into Spanish.
